Nancy Friedland is a photo-based artist who investigates narrative, landscape and loss in her work. After studying photography at the Ontario College of Art and Design she completed her MFA at the Rochester Institute of Technology as a Sir Edmund Walker Scholar.
 
She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council which have enabled her to pursue her work. She has exhibited across Canada and in the United States. She lives and works in Toronto with her husband Brett, daughter Tillie, son Levi and their dog Libby.
